Re: St george 30k pt no annual fee first year

I haven't signed up for this yet as I'm still dealing with Westpac. It doesn't say anything about holding a Westpac card that would exclude you for the deal (that i know of).

I assume, similar to the Westpac deal, if you open a free account with STG/BankSA/BankMelb that you'd quality for the free annual fee as it doesn't say anything about having to own one before the offer starts.

I think what you are saying is correct.

Re: St george 30k pt no annual fee first year

Thanks. Maybe I'll get lucky as I did when applying for Westpac and the in-bank agent did it all on my behalf and points arrived within days. 'Simples'.

So are there any easy free accounts like Westpac? Looks like Express Freedom is free if you deposit 1k/month. Maxi Saver needs a transaction account. Is Incentive Saver the go?

Unless you are under 18, government concessions, senior or are a full-time student, the Incentive Saver seems like the only option if you don't intend to use the bank account. It's the only one that has no monthly fees or a minimum deposit.

Re: St george 30k pt no annual fee first year

Has anyone tried with the Signature, to sign up to get Amplify Rewards points from spend, but then get the 2x QP passes? (whilst not getting the PP membership that comes with Amplify Rewards). Not double dipping as it may seem...

Re: St george 30k pt no annual fee first year

oh damn, was going to apply for this when I saw annual fee fre for first year,
and it mentioned existing customers, and just realised it was for exisitng customers only,

If you're not going to use the card anyway, you might as well get the Signature as it has the same bonus but with the lounge passes. If you intend on using it for QFF points, get the Signature. Also as above, just sign on for a free account with whoever - BankSA/BankMelb/STG.

these two cards have different income requirements. Is this an issue for you?

y

es it absolutely is, however as someone said in another thread, the income requiremnets arent mentioned,l

ooks like it might be better for me to go for the lower card, the extra benefits arent that improtant to me, for me, the bonus points are the prioritya

lso the annual fee isnt important as Iwill be cancelling

Re: St george 30k pt no annual fee first year

You do appreciate that the bank may not necessarily refund, or partially refund, the annual fee I assume?

I am referring to the first year annual fee free component of the St George offer

Re: St george 30k pt no annual fee first year

Went to open a st george account took me ages to find as I didn't know they've been bought over by bank of Melbourne.

Had to create a new profile even though I had an account five years ago for a short period.

Got a customer number.
Hopefully this is what's required to get first year annual fee free

Fingers crossed

bummer, just applied got rejected for the amplify signature card
The signature card has quite a high minimum credit limit so seems a little difficult to get.
Also Bank of Melbourne has the same deal, so you could have just got a Bank of Melbourne Amplify card.

For comparison, I have a 'ok' Veda score (lots of applications) and was declined for Woolworths card, but approved for this.

Hmmmm because there is no guide for limits etc I wasn't sure. To me they were almost the same.
Do you think I should apply again.

My credit score was 640 odd before the application
It will probably be the last card I apply for maybe 6 months
