Re: The totally off-topic thread
Bit of a long blah here: A lot of you colleagues might know, iSelect used to be linked to either QFF/Qpoints or VFFVelocityRewards (just like Quickflixs and the old Telstra dvd rental service).
Both (QF and VA) are no longer in the iSelect program. Neither is Quickflix anymore.
I made the mistake of doing some research for cheaper than Optus Home Broadband, iSelect needs a phone number.
I have spoken to one of the customer support/sales girls, as she had called me up, and I explained that I am just chasing up home broadband and home phone deal for my parents, who are pensioners.
Optus will have 200gb home broadband for $70 for pensioners, $80 for others.
Iselect will keep calling you up, if you enter your phone number onto their online system.
For 3 different days now, I had in the first place, I will call them back, when my parents do decide on what they want, but iSelect keeps phoning up, every day.
If any of you colleagues are chasing up deals, there are some websites, where you can chase up info on prices of deals, where you don't have to enter personal details.
Iselect gets money from utilities/phone companies/broadband companies, so they will phoning you daily.
I have learnt a lesson, avoid anything that asks for your contact details, even if it says "no commitments queries accepted".
