Did you get the seats right 'to the minute' that they were released, I'm hoping for this in 2018? Did you book it all as one, or did you need to get each sector? I see the last flight ex SYD is actually a 777.

I'd like to get a <24 hours a connection in FRA as I've never been there. But don't know how to do that, if it is even possible?

I was checking for availability over a few days, constantly getting the message "Not Available". Yesterday at 06:00 I logged in again and there they were, 2 seats available. I don't know what time they were released.
The flight is a single booking, I entered SYD - JFK into the to/from boxes.

IIRC the connection in FRA is only about 2 hours,

Did the SYD JFK trip last year. Hope you got the last flight from SYD otherwise it's a very long trip. Nothing better than a hot choc before bedtime :)

Note: At FRA someone is waiting to take the F passengers to the lounge - they have a special security line. I was foggy headed with a cold and cough syrup and nearly missed the sign they were holding. Was so nice to have a shower and get to NYC ready to explore.

I booked SQ232, the 12:15 flight. I booked this flight so that we can enjoy breakfast in the lounge prior to departure then hopefully a nice lunch on board. The layover in SIN gives us around 6 hours in TPR with a short stop in FRA.
I know it's a long flight but it's the flight I wanted.

Thanks, good for you, congratulations, pity about the wait to Nov.

The 1215 flight is an A380 - suites. Is planned to stay a suites flight as far as we know (afawk)?

We found they were released around noon, give or take, when we were looking a few months ago. Then added the stopover in SIN so I could catch up with a school friend. Breaks up the long trip a bit too.

Just a quick question regarding the lounge in Zurich. We've been very fortunate to be able to snag a couple of waitlisted suites flights from zrh to sin. I'm not sure though what lounge access we'll have in Zurich? I'm sure it's been covered in this thread, but I'm too lazy to scour through all the whole thread (and I've not had a lot of luck with google).
- really looking forward to my first suites ride and stoked that the redemption (saver level) is only marginally more expensive than our old full priced business award :D

thanks in advance.

Was a great lounge as well - Pretty good write up on ausbt about it as well:

Hope that helps!

Looking forward to enjoying this lounge in ZRH in July :D

Anything you'd like to know in advance? I'm there for breakfast on the 20th Jan flying suites from ZRH on my first, first class flight.

Please, ask and I shall seek out!

Please let me know when check in opens. We are overnighting in ZRH just to pick up this flight. I assume it will be the standard 3 hrs.

Enjoy your flight and report back on all delicious food and beverages :D

We did exactly the same thing LadyC - Standard check-in time is 3 hours.

Thanks a lot for the information re Zurich lounge. Much appreciated. :D
Our flight is 10:30 i the morning (?), so i doubt I'll be sampling any of the whiskey. Still, looks like a really nice lounge.
We're staying one night in zrh to catch this flight. - have booked the airport hotel for convenience. Looks like it's reviewed ok..

I asked the barman on his recommendation and had a cheeky one before the flight - I do agree that whisky in the am (well the wrong side of am anyway) is a bit of a tough ask!

Which hotel? The Radisson Blu is very new and excellent - probably only Radisson I have ever stayed that I can give positive review.

Have also stayed in Park Inn which is out a bot from airport but quite modern and quaint little rooms - love the little shower capsule in these rooms.

I was thinking the Radisson Blu but other hotel suggestions always welcome.
We are only flying out of ZRH to try out this new lounge (plus I couldn't get Suites out of FRA). :D

We stayed at the NH Zurich - Good shuttle bus service to the airport which sold us on some of the others.

Woohoo! I'm very happy to hear that the whisky bar does serve in the AM. Not too much, but something to take the edge off.

Plan will be to get there for 7.30 check-in... And then proclaim it's 5 o'clock somewhere to Mrs tizey to sample a beverage or two before boarding :)
