So I am VA gold traveling BNE-LAX Nov 20 on Virgin with my VA Silver husband and 2 kids (4years, 4mos). I think I read it right that the lounge we can access is Singapore lounge in BNE BUT that I only get 1 guest and my children are counted as guests? Does that mean we'd have to find someone to guest in my husband?

Yes that's correct, although I suspect given the very young age of your kids that the SQ staff will let you all in.

The Frequent Flyer Concierge team takes the hard work out of finding reward seat availability. Using their expert knowledge and specialised tools, they'll help you book a great trip that maximises the value for your points.

Is that soemthing they let slide sometimes? I don't want to be turned down when we could just instead ask Someone to Guest in hubs

SQ will not refuse lounge entry for children who are clearly not old enough to look after themselves in terminal general. This is unequivocal and not a decision that lounge staff will make on a random basis - in simple terms young kids / bubs will be no question you will be welcomed in.

When flying Qantas 1st class...what is the earliest you can get into the 1st class lounge in Melb.

Thanks M.P.

Wrong branch, Masonic Phantom, as this is the VA/VFF side.
But... as soon as you have done OLCI, just go to the F counter to get your passport spied on their special keyboard at check in, telling them you have done OLCI/they might already can see from their screen, then try to get past immigration and international security processing asap.
My first MEL QF F lounge, the plane was an EK 380 though, I was able to get into the lounge by 6.30am or so, the frosted doors were open for the first EK flight to DBX, but were locked again when I was waiting in line to fly to AKL.
But I was in the MEL QF F lounge for about 45 mins or so, then off for boarding about 7.15 am.
You don't say if you are flying the first EK plane out to DXB (checkin at 3am for the 6am flight out), or the soon to stop EK plane to AKL, or the new QF 380 route MEL - SIN - LHR.
