Probably not as much as you'd think, there's a lot of ways to get to HKIA ... the AE is definitely not the most popular due to the price.

Ive often got a bus. Slow as anything but half the price.
Interested to know what you use other than taxi / driving.

there is also the ability to take the MTR to Tung Chung (which runs along the same line as the AE with more stops) then either a bus or a taxi. the MTR is $16.9 vs $90 on the AE. bus is the most popular (the AE runs empty most of the day).

there are also many taxis that do 'flat fee' to the airport which is often the best value for 2 or more travellers, you need to have their number and book in advance though (this is why you see taxis with lots of phones on the dash - they are running their own dispatching for them and their colleagues).
