It's been a while since I have flown QF J. I was wondering if they still give you PJs? I have an upcoming flight and if they do provide then I won't pack any and save some baggage space. Thanks in advance.

Which flight?

Basically if it's a long haul flight then yes. If a day flight to Asia then no.

Q What is the best thing about roo jammies ? ( and a reason to keep a few pairs..)

A: Wearing them on Airlines that don't provide them.. :-)

It may be a pyjama party on QF long haul , but I have had some strange looks on other airlines….

I dont actually wear them on the plane. :o I wear leggings and a top which work well for sleeping and have a t shirt in the bag to change into before landing. I keep them and wear them at our beach shack. MrP wears his F Qantas ones as trackies at home in Summer as they are super comfy.

Will they be handed out on an afternoon flight to Singapore?

Have done two QF afternoon flights SYD-SIN (about 4pm arriving 10pm) in the past couple of years - on one flight no PJs - on the second, yes. The 2nd was pretty lightly loaded in J so that may have been a factor.

They weren't on a night flight back from Manila, but that was a year or so ago.

Strange: for a long time now they have always been offered when I have flown this route (6-7 times a year)?

I like them flying SCL-SYD - almost everyone in J puts them on. I only wear the top - saves sleeping in my shirt.

Side story, but I get all the kits I can - usually 8 doing a lap to Aus and back to Colombia - I give the kits and PJ's to street people. When you think of it, they are tailored perfectly for street people - a toothbrush, a comb, some toiletries, and even an eyeshade for those harsh morning wake-ups on asphalt. And all in a really handy carry bag. The Avianca kits are the best for that - they even come with a sticker "Wake me for a meal" :)

There was a number of odd things on that flight. I recall now that I suspected that a domestic bird and crew may have been subbed on the round trip.

re Asia - pj's usually handed out on ex-Asia night flights back to oz. Had them a few months back on HKG-MEL).

I have worn my QF F PJ's on UA and NZ in their J cabins. :p mostly these days I actually just wear the pants and a tshirt it depends on the length of flight and if I'm required to be anywhere important or meet anyone at the other end (as opposed to going straight home or to a hotel to rest/shower/change).

Does anyone else think that their PJ size options is lacking a bit? I'm about 6'2 and about 110kgs - definitely carrying a couple of extra kilo's but certainly not enormous - basically a XXL size. Putting on the largest size PJ's feels & looks like I am wearing lycra - not very pleasant for anyone!!

I think you got my jammies. I can usually fit an extra coupla people in the ones I get.

Went out to a business lunch recently in Sydney with a Chinese company we do some business with. One of their guys had trousers a leather jacket and the shirt from his QF pj's. Hard to keep a straight face.

I flew to SIN earlier this year (afternoon flight from memory) and I got PJs both ways when I asked for them.
