New Amex statement credits

In my experience the bigger stations have always had gift cards.

Not my experience yesterday.

If you search for their stations in your area, on the facilities tab it shows BP Giftcards. I don't know if this indicates stations that accept or sell Giftcards.

Thanks for that. I just did the search. Both stores that I visited yesterday are listed for gift cards. But both denied any knowledge of their existence.

I ended up visiting about 4 BP servos before I found one which stocked gift cards. This was BP Coburg but the problem was the attended did not know how to split transactions.
Finally found BP Preston where they stocked GC's and the attendant knew how to split the transaction, so I bought 2x$200 gift cards with 10x$40 transactions, so essentially $400 GC for $300.
FYI they(BP Preston) also have prepaid Visa GC which carries $5.95 fee.

That's interesting, as both BP stations listed in Preston (VIC) do not list gift cards in their facilities list. Seems the list is hit and miss.

Yes noticed this as well... not very clear as it lists gift cards on BP servo's that didn't have them by my checking and also ( refer Dr Ralph ) So I am going with the fact that it indicates they are accepted not sold by the icon

I think it comes down to the outlet operator. My local operator told me last promo that he would need to order more cards in. It may be low priority for some.

Email I just got - they're up to date with the offers I have saved at least. Signed up for Event Cinemas (take the kids there)

Signed up for the HCF offer. I prepaid my policy a year in advance (to avoid the price increase), so couldn't make a payment online. Was able to make one payment via the automated phone service (of $2), but subsequent payments don't go through -"please hold the line to speak with an operator"

So, it is spend $40 + x 3 and get $30 back on ... how many AMEX cards did you use?

The HCF online payment system allows for up to 18 months in advance... Mine is currently prepaid to October 2017.

Just checking out the HCF offer t&cs on my main AMEX and found another travel-related offer;

Budget - spend 150 for 30 credit.

The BP offer is now oversubscribed :( I forgot about BP gift cards so i tried to register another Amex card just then but alas...well, I have 3 AMEX cards already registered so that should be 3x3 $40 BP gift cards which will last me a few months....I seem to recall that you have 1 year to use the BP gift cards...

You mean you are getting $100 back for a $3 spend? How can non-HCF members get a piece of this action?

Find a friend and offer to pay $3 of their health insurance?

Ps:I have received the email confirmation but not the credit yet-however dont see why it shouldn't

...Never knew AFFers had so many different Amex cards... :D

The credits seems to come through (across our range of Amex) the last day of the billing cycle although in many cases the email has been there before I've walked out of the shop.

The range of recent offers has been the most productive for me yet with 4 different companies there for me to use in normal course. Just contemplating whether to give Q one more chance...

Yes, good idea. Anyone want me to pay their health insurance?

can we be friends?:)

Haaahaa, beat me to it.. :p

Wonder if I could pay for travel insurance in 3 instalments? Anyone know if that's possible? Seems unlikely..

Well, the travel insurance I need (well, my better half really) comes to $166 although I didn't follow through the purchase to the payment page. I imagine it'll be a one off payment?

Maybe travel insurance locally for 1 day would be cheap? LOL
I would however prefer to use it for a legit purchase..
