QF introducing "Parental Pause" & increasing transfer limits

Now if only they would allow family pooling of status credits like Virgin....
No, no, no, please no. More Platinums is not what Qantas needs and definitely not what we need. The lounges are not going to get bigger which would mean more enhancements. :(

Qantas would love more Platinums!
There's an ongoing industry debate about shelling out cheap/free elite status and the financial impact on business (both pro and cons). This is what leads into revenue based program discussions.

QFF, like other FFPs could do well by creating a secondary currency (status credits?) and using that as a loyalty driver which wouldn't cost a cent and would provide a new layer of perceived benefits to better target the non-flying base.
Heck - there is a lot QFF could do to improve loyalty and financial performance from it's member base without members even knowing it. You might be surprised how other FFPs make $$ outside selling points to banks.

Bit off topic now but I think parental pause is a good move, although I would have marketed it with wider scope to capture the wider base who want to pause for non-baby-making purposes. This would genuinely come across as giving something back (aka: 2 way loyalty) whereas the parental thing really is just copying Velocity and bringing the QFF program up to par.

Indeed! In fact what we need IMHO, and this may well be an unpopular suggestion here, is for the F lounge (at least in SYD) to have a dedicated First-only zone purely for F passengers (and CL of course).

Take the two bays down at the 'library' end, wall 'em up and make a space with its own dining room (meals still ordered from and delivered from the restaurant, just means guaranteed seating for F and CL) plus other relaxed seating.

While they're at it - free spa appointments only for QF passengers (but maybe exception for CL and P1), if you're not flying QF then you can either pay or not bother. And that includes JQ too.

I have long held the belief that WPs on JQ domestic should be excluded from the F Lounge but that's wandering dangerously off topic and into contentious territory here

Feels like home to me.... Feels like home to me. QF OWES nothing to Australians but it " feels like home to me...."

My Grand Daughter 5 years old doesn't now it yet, but she has been ripped off by Qantas.

Why

No it's not that the pause thing came in too late for her mum, but that she was charged for new Frequent Flyer membership  $89.50

90th Birthday celebration is suppose to be free!!!! Qantas

So this is how it's funded!!!

Sorry a little off topic Rant.

And be consistently inconsistent?
More that it is too hard to cover every possibility (like the one you mentioned), in a set of terms and conditions. I would suspect Qantas hasn't even considered the way the new economy of contractors and consultants works. As a recruitment company I had many consultants who used us to find them work and handle billing. They weren't employees in any sense of the word, but I often ended up talking to banks and finance companies and providing letters to verify payments to their companies in the past and expected future payments.

The only thing that consoled me our our (now cancelled) trip to Alaska via Hon with Jet* was the fact we would have time in the F lounge.

Seriously Just because your P1 Princess ?( sorry could not help myself a little dig :D ) ..... Your join the free kiddy links came in now! ( recently)
I for one had expected that joining is free to the end of the year anyway! ( 90th birthday celebration)

I just like consistency not being bedazzled by links. Let's get it straight it's free. So don't charge!

To QF's credit calling FF able to reverse those charges.

I am still trying to figure out what another 30 dollar Qantas Frequent flyer direct charge is for ?

Sorry another off topic rant :erm:

CX's "any reason" pause is interesting. Essentially you're able to defer your descent if you choose to forego all status benefits for a year.

Qantas celebrated their 95th Birthday last year  :?:

That's probably a charge from a credit card, eg, my CBA card charges an annual fee to send points to QF rather than CBA points.
