On a 777 though which in a 10 per row Y I will always try to avoid.

Sure, I wasn't suggesting you should have taken that option. I was just surprised.
I always assume an experienced traveller such as yourself has good reasons for the choices they've made.

Not an experienced traveller. Rather I consider myself to be underdone in the airline travelling department but full of knowledge gained from websites. Its very dangerous when you know a little about everything or a lot about nothing (depending on POV).:D

I was late in making this booking due to a change in plan

On a 777 though which in a 10 per row Y I will always try to avoid. However with a morning arrival which is good. The other aspect to this is that because its a 0200 departure it does not feature in a SYD-MEL-KUL fare, although you could do via an agent.
Have you tried Zuji?

FWIW I am thinking of booking this same EK flight on 777 in economy end September. I will try the A380 the previous month so good to compare.

I don't think you'll have an issue with booking consecutive flights. You don't want to book one with MH and one with SQ? Forget SCs unless the price is higher for SQ.

JohnK,

I will do as OZBB suggested. Prob get a more flex fare than a elcheapo discounted to the bone promo incase there is a misconnection

I now realise that the SIN-KUL-SIN return is cheaper than 2 oneways unlike QF domestic.

Have already paid for QF SYD-SIN-SYD. Do you think QF can add in an MH connecting return to the PNR?
