I made my first points upgrade redemption request just this past week for a trip at the end of the year. As I had a multi-trip I had to do everything via the call centre. I know I've read a few things about the call centre being bothersome, but I definitely couldn't have asked for a better experience. The EY rep was more than happy to look through flights on a number of different days for upgrade availability (the trip is this coming Christmas and there wasn't much left!) and basically nothing was too much trouble.
Now I'm very much just waiting to experience business on the dreamliner from Brissy to Abu Dhabi and back. If the on board experience is anything like the call centre, I'll be a very happy chappy
