Hi everyone,

just wanting some advice on the best way to book flights for someone in my position. We have no set travel times so we can book whenever we can find available flights. We only have bronze status at this point. We are going to hong Kong and Beijing and have 200k points at present. Should have 280k in a month. Just wondering what the best way to use the points is, as in Qantas or partner airlines and if partner do I need to join up to other ff programs to utilise points this way?

thanks!

You can only use Qantas FF points through Qantas, so no need to join partner programs. The QF search engine will off you flights on Qantas, Cathay and I think DragonAir to route you to Beijing.

that'd give you 2 round the world trips in Economy on One World (140K each) - or 1 RTW in business :) - maybe have a look at that as you say you don't have set travel times/requirements? Given things like AU-LHR is abour 120K, a RTW seems way better value.

I know you're asking for Beijing specifically, but that's just in case you have more time up your sleeve :)
