Air Asia recruiting requirements

Air Asia is recruiting pilots.

Direct entry Captain minimum 5000 hours, 500 hours in an airbus FBW aircraft
Direct entry FO just needs a CPL/ATPL

In Australia you can get a CPL after 200 hours and some tests.

To be fair they may be casting a wide net to ensure the better ones get selected and not missed. Maybe its better to train a pilot in-house from minimum hours than a bush pilot who has got "lots" of hours???

Reckon I'm more suitable because I at least have a bus licence. After all many people think pilots are just glorified bus drivers.

Dont know what the requirements are for Direct entry FO at Qantas as they are no recruiting but Qantaslink has a 700 hour minimum with an English language level 6 apart from some other requirements.

Jetstar has FO requirements of 1500 hours

Arguably a wide-ranging career as a 'bush' pilot, through multiple employers, aircraft types and varying environments is far better experience. Day to day stories I hear about cadets is troublesome and the demise of our profession.

Probably the best point of interest is they're hiring Malaysians... You know, as they're a Malaysian company. It's been quite a while since they've actually taken non MY citizens as direct entry captains.

Not that I can see why anyone would want to work there (unless they've literally dried up all options)

It's another 'can't fly an Airbus unless you have flown an Airbus' recruiting campaign. I'll just stick to my Boeing thanks...
