Hi,

Travelling with my partner from Melbourne to Broome around 12th August, followed by a flight to Darwin before returning home. The only direct flights from Melbourne (hate transfers!) appears to be Qantas QF1050 at 0700.

My questions are whether the fares on this route are likely to change (currently $501 one way), or is a sale price ever likely, considering the direct route. Also the flight from Broome to Darwin are on a smaller aircraft, (fare $295) is it better to book on both these routes asap and accept the prices are always higher due to the remoteness?

Thanks in anticipation.

Looks like you've got it. I'm looking to go to Broome with my wife. Aug is the best time to go especially if you can line up the Broome Cup. I wanted to do it on points but the day you've lined up , award seats are fully booked. I think I'll look at flying via Perth.

The direct flight is always going to be expensive. (Even flying via Perth is probably not much better.) I don't think it's likely to get any cheaper so I would book now.

But if you can use points for that flight, then I would look at doing that for sure.
