Hong Kong in the rain

Agree. In July it was awful. 3 days of heavy rain. Pool closed. If I hadn't been there in better weather I wouldn't encourage people to go.

Some weather records that were broken this weekend stood more than 100 years, including the lowest average daily temperature, and the lowest top temperature for a day. The 129-year record for January rainfall looks set to be broken as well in the next few days. And to think that the record for the top temperature was broken just half a year ago.

Hong Kong in the rain is awful.

Was there Friday - Sunday and rain didn't stop. Got soaked going to Kowloon. Got soaked going to Victoria Peak. Walking through the narrow streets even with umbrella the biggest danger is getting eyes poked out. The locals think it's your responsibility to avoid the umbrella spokes they are just holding above their head.

Probably not the wisest idea going to Victoria Peak in the pouring rain - as advised up thread, give it a miss in the rain...

Had to make that decision that morning. Who knows when I'll spend more than 1 night transit again in HKG.and wanted to go to Victoria Peak.

Fair enough. Pity the weather was so poor.
