Just thought I'd create a thread for this - looking back over the last year, I thought I'd done a thread here as well as on Priority Club.

I'm a Gold member.

Got some more travel to do to Melbourne this Friday, so hoping to fly down Thursday night to sample the new Hilton.

I had a coat pressed at H-SYD early 2015, but never seen any mention of it on welcome letters etc since. This was a time I booked an exec room outright...
Have often wondered if I would get the pressing as Diamond too, but never seen it mentioned anywhere.

Just as an aside, H-CNS offered me a complementary pressing in the welcome letter, but I have only seen that once...when I had the Premier Suite booked, so I don't think it's a standard offer (at least not that I'm aware of). I have the feeling I might also have seen it fairly recently at another AU Hilton property, but I can't recall which.......maybe it was H-ADL??

Up until Xmas, HADL was my second home - never recall seeing complementary pressing offered ... but then it's been a while since I had need of a letter "You're here so often, you don't need telling of the facilities Mr BD?".

Regards,

BD

Don't take my ordinary memory as being gospel! I just have a slight recollection of seeing it somewhere in Oz fairly recently but maybe I'm dreamin'!.

Totally specific Q re Waldorf Astoria Shanghai - I can Prestige 'Stay 4 Pay 3' rate for 4 nts May - now I have the dilemma of will WA honour Diamond benefits if booked through 3rd party. Anybody with specific experience in WA? MEL? Net A$372 saving over 4nts if they do honour.

(Please no responses like some Hilton properties do / some don't)

So I really need an answer as I want to book this accom - so only one way to be definitive and that is go directly to the source - Waldorf Astoria Operations Manager:
Elly
Thank you for your response and glad all is well your end.
Long story short – Citibank will give me 1 x complimentary night at your hotel if I book through their Concierge service.
But if I do this will you still honour HH Diamond benefits?
I know some Hiltons do and some don’t – what would be your position in this instance?

And her response:
Dear Mr. Elite,
Thank you for your email.
Certainly we will offer the Hhonors benefits – not matter how you reserve the room.
Please do let me know once the reservation has been made so I can follow up.
Sincerely yours,
Elly
So we are good to go - gotta love that huh? Further info on this matter in the Citi Prestige thread.

In Hilton Tokyo Bay I got upgraded from a basic room to a Celebrio Select (they had no suites available)

Was my first stay as the matched HH Diamond, only issue is the stay posted as 0 points across the board... so trying to get that fixed now

CE- the rule is NO. If a specific hotel offers to do it for you, then this may happen, but I'd always ask and print the reply to bring with you.

To the letter, no points nor status benefits if booked through a 3rd party.

Property: Hilton South Wharf
Date: Jan 15-17, 2016 (2 nights)
Status: Diamond
Booked: King City View
Received: Relaxation Suite
Did OLC - no upgrade at time. Arrived about 4pm; advised of Relaxation Suite but it wasn't ready so waited in lounge. Two waters, full breakfast, no coffee tax, no welcome note or amenity. Took a while for my registration to 'register' - had to use public internet access for first few hours. TVs had very bad 'burn-in' of the Welcome message.

When it comes tooking Hilton using HH pts what is best way to proceed? Email the complete details? Call? How do you guys go about it pls?

just book what you want and the details are emailed to you as a confirmation; then keep the email(we print it out) as a record for when you check in. You'll be offered an upgrade when you book - sometimes for no extra points, other times for more points

Thanks guys - want to book 4nts at Waldorf London but they aren't actually giving the rooms away:

Queen Hilton Room - £359 / 80,000 pts
Queen Hilton Superior Room - £389 / 197,165 pts
Queen Hilton Deluxe Room - £409 / 210,002 pts
King Hilton Executive Room - £459 / 235,674 pts
King Hilton Junior Suite - £509 / 261,347 pts (last time we stayed here we were in Junior Suite)
Hilton Executive Suite - £559 / 287,020 pts

Good grief - these jerks don't even say 'Stick 'em up' as they rob you! Am I missing something? Do these look about normal rates?
