Hewitt was a brat early on
Where we sat last night was 5 rows back and 5 mtrs to left of the Kyrgios players box - Thanasi Kokkinakis was in front row of Kyrgious box and was seated there early with others - quite a number of kids jumped down and asked for autographs / selfies with him - he willingly obliged EVERY request - Lleyton was seated in back row Kyrgios box - one guy wandered down and asked Lleyton to sign his cap ......................... Lleyton refused and waved him away! Go figure!

Somebody posted yesterday they were seated next to Ricky Ponting on a flt and commented what a lovely guy he was. We stayed at Henry Jones IXL Hotel in Hobart few years back when there was a test on in town - Punter was also staying there. Over 3 days / nts / b/fs I saw 100s of kids adults ask for autos / pics / just shake hand - Punter willingly obliged EVERY one with a smile on his face - I shook his hand and thanked him for the entertainment he had provided us - over next 3 days every time we passed there was a smile and fist bump - what a STAR he is - he just made the day of all people who came in contact with him.

So he can still be a brat. :p.
Kokkinakis might work out although Kyrgios tried putting him under a bus.

'Brat' is kind :-D
His behavior at a certain US Open was disgraceful. Rafter on the other hand was a joy to watch and barrack for. Not so, the 2 current dickheads, unless you of course like to see them beaten by nicer human beings.

Talking about death claims JohnK. Sadly pretty straightforward.
Apologies for the poor wording and was not meant in bad taste.

Firstly not all life insurance policies are paid out.

Secondly if all life insurance policies are were paid out the insurance company is still making a fortune out of life insurance premiums. Yes not everyone carries through with life insurance policies but insurance companies still make obscene profits.

Wasn't it good to see 'our' Leyton give a final object lesson to the newcomers by abusing the a line umpire and the chair umpire during the match. Ah just like old times.:)

I would rather have enjoyed it if the women were throwing their undies at me.

Especially unmarried women. (Be asking for too much if they were taking them off in front of me before throwing at me).

This is starting to get too twisted. Sicko. You are revealing too much of your personality.

Would it matter to you if they were washed/unwashed?

Oops...sorry, didnt realise i was responding to one of the earliest posts in this thread. Hope JohnK isn't red-faced.

I like Josh Groban. I went to his concert a couple of years ago at Adelaide Festival Centre. Several ladies threw him roses which he gathered. One tacky women threw knickers. He deliberately walked to the opposite side of the stage and ignored them while a stagehand raced onto the stage and made them disappear.

Josh Groban is a class act.
(We played his song 'Thankful' at Mum's recent service.)

Ponting is very generous with his time.

I remember when he launched his book, he did a book signing in Collins Place. The organisers allocated 1hr, he stayed for ~3hrs to ensure everyone got a signed book, a photo and a quick chat.

The organisers were panicking because it went over time, then they tried to stop people lining up, but Ricky was very good, and saw EVERYONE.

What a W@nker - sign the bloody cap.

Some sports stars and ex-stars are an ongoing class act. A few years ago, Channel 7 were broadcasting an promotional Auskick game at Albert Park where my youngest son was playing: they had Bruce McA commentating, Leigh Matthews field umpire, Tim Watson coach etc. At the end of the game, everyone was packing up and a minder with a clipboard was shooing the celebrities back to their limos for their return to the studio.

We are an Essendon-member family (yes, a bit hard ATM). As Tim Watson ran from the stadium to his limo my son said "excuse me"...... Tim stopped dead, dropped to his haunches (ie little-kid-eye-level) to listen to Peter as he asked how Tim's son Jobe was (he had just broken his wrist or shoulder the previous week). With the minder calling out to Tim to hurry up, Tim ignored her and spent a minute or two talking to Peter about Jobe and supporting Essendon in general, maintaining eye contact and chatting with no sense of urgency or shutting down the conversation. Finally, he shook hands with Peter and raced off to his limo.

Mrs C and I were very, very impressed. As Madam Chiang Kai-shek famously said "character cannot be counterfeited, nor can it be put and cast off like a garment......"

As an Australian, I would like to be represented by sports people who play the game hard and fair but are well respected because of their general demeanor. Roger Federer is one who comes to mind. Also past tennis greats like Lew Hoad, Rod Laver, Roy Emerson, or cricket greats like Richie Benaud, Mark Taylor, Geoff Marsh or Allan Border. Kyrgious just doesn't cut it for me. He's done it again last night. I wish the ATP would ban him from some tournaments and hit him in the hip pocket to see if that would make any difference. He doesn't represent me. He is lower than shark dung!

The following pic may well be the best pic I will ever post on AFF - I gave 2 tix to centre court on Thurs night to these 2 gorgeous 17yo girls:

IMG_4808.jpg

Girl on left is the daughter of one of my best mates who at 5 years of age was diagnosed with leukaemia and then spent months on end on multiple occasions in Peter Mac - girl on left was also a leukaemia sufferer - they cobbered up on their very first stints in hospital and thankfully both were lucky enough to survive and prospects in both cases quite bright - both are just the loveliest kids!
