I had a big mango tree in my back yard when I lived in Darwin. Serious bliss picking [-]one[/-] many then eating [-]it[/-] them in the pool, where the sticky mess was irrelevant.

Bloody bats, though.

My apricot tree has been decimated over the last few days by parrots and bats...

Having a quick squizz at a French competency test... and I have no idea where to start!

A generic picture of a male and female looking rather bored or exhausted, sitting against one another but facing the other way. The text says: "Pascal and Violette are in trouble. Questions: 1) Do you think that Pascal and Violette can be reconciled? 2) What are the probabilities that their problems can be solved? 3) What doubts and certainties do you have over the stability of their relationship?"

At least 15 lines of prose are expected collectively for all 3 questions. But there's absolutely no other context given. How would you start to answer this?

Yep, you're not french.
Let go of the logic, and feel the force. It's an emotional question. Think of the possibilities of both sides. Can they be reconciled? Start with what could have happened to cause the trouble? Did one of them have a fling, or are they in financial trouble, did both sleep around? Does the other want to forgive? Did pascal get caught calling the mother in law a witch?

Do not drive a car if you don't know where you are going.

Think I am going to cop a nice fine this weekend. Driving in bicycle lane in Swanston St where only authorised cars are allowed. :( Skybus is going to look very cheap in comparison.

My neighbour asked to trim branches from my 40yo elm tree hanging over his fence to which I agreed. I came out 30 mins later to find he'd jumped the fence and cut down probably 50% of the canopy including large branches 2-3m inside our fence line.

Not happy.

Plus as the tree was north to him, he now has the full force of sun beating down on his previously shaded patio and lounge room.

Damn right it does Johnny - direct consequence of the driving techniques of lunatic interstate visitors! ;) :D

Seriously greatest misnomer of all time is to call them 'Safety Cameras' - simple revenue raisers as all are aware.

But not only Melbourne City - entirety of MEL metropolitan region. And add speed cameras too. Most used apparatus in car of MEL drivers is cruise control - do not leave home without it.

Flaw here is that cruise control doesn't work at 40kmh - and it's the increasing number of 40 kmh zones that are the most lucrative. 40 kmh + a red light camera = a veritable gold mine.

This camera gets about $7 million in fines in three months. I go through there weekly and you have to concentrate really hard not to get flashed:

If you're referring to traffic safety cameras, well, I haven't driven in Melbourne recently...

Some reckon Switzerland is absolutely packed with speed (and red light) cameras, with high fines to match them.

As for cameras watching your every move, it's hard to go past London in terms of numbers.

Does Melbourne have a red light district...Grey Street St Kilda was well known but that was like 30 years back.
