Bam, after playing with the AA 7777; in your personal opinion, for each cabin class, would you prefer QF or AA?

I would be more than happy to fly on this aircraft, no problems with it at all. All the usual features and equal to a QF 380 down to the self serve bar.

Matt

We were there at the same time as you Matt.
My +1 said he thought it was the AFF train guy but I said "No, that's not him!". I'd better take more notice next time:oops:.

Thanks for the pics. I especially loved climbing up to the tech crew rest - better than the QF 747 one.

Must have missed you by that much with apologies to Maxwell Smart.

Will we see you on this years BAM trip?

Unfortunately we just cannot squeeze it in amongst all the other activities planned for this time of year :(.
And last year's trip was such a unique experience!

I got to see the aircraft last week as well. Overall it is a good cabin. Business is the standard Business seat that we are seeing on a lot of airlines now. Nothing special, but certainly nothing wrong with it. Would be happy to have people in there. First was a bit ho-hum, and the seats don't have the privacy that we've become used to on QF, SQ, EK etc. but big and spacious.

The Main Cabin Extra cabin was surprising... One less seat across, and good leg room. Definitely worth paying for.

Talking to the Cabin Crew that were onboard, the Cabin crew will be senior when the route starts up, and will probably stay relatively senior. So cabin crew will be older than average.

Looking at the GDS availability, the flight has lots of availability in the QF codeshare fares, so could work nicely when the QF flight fills up and hep get a decent fare.

All up a solid product, particularly in Business and the Main Cabin Extra.

Older than average? That's a concern. The aisles must be wide enough for wheelchairs and galley carts at the same time.

here's the thing... supposedly OW sapphire and emerald can reserve seats in MCE for free at time of booking? And OWR can do so for half price at time of booking, or for free at OLCI.

An extra 6 inches of legroom of QF and it would seem to be a no brainer for economy travel?

I am QF all the way but flew this plane type 2014 Dfw-Lhr return in business. I would pick AA business on this plane any time over QF. More room to place items, lots of room at end of area for shoes, bag, blankets & pillows (not in use), etc, proper private feel to whole seating area. My 2cents.

I can confirm that MCE can be booked for free for OWE - only issue was which seat for 1 pax - have selected 16C - is there a better seat as all in MCE are available.
