Hi all,

Was looking on the QF website and was surprised they don't have flights from Perth through emirates which go to Dubai then Boston directly on the QF number.
or not sure if i just missed something,

Would this mean i have to go PER - SYD - LA - BOS because if so this is ridiculous.
Is there no way i can earn status credits by flying from Perth - Dubai - Boston? Via emirates? Or a similair route using any other OW carrier? I have to make 2 return trips this January.

Cheers,

C

Will be more expensive but try a split trip, or QR.
To DOH at least, then EK from there to BOS thus earning some QF SC.
Don't think the QF EK agreement would be changed anytime soon.
Ahh... snapped. He got in before me.

If I recall correctly there are no QF codeshare flights on EK to North America precisely because QF want you to fly via LAX or DFW. Have you considered CX via HKG?

Pity,

Yes it seems QR have some flights from PER - DOH - Boston which might seem my best bet.
I will probably call the ticket office later in the week to organize something when i am slightly more free. Thanks for that i forgot QR was OW!

I did look at Cathay but frankly that's adding more hours to my Journey than i would care to take!

You'd be surprised but CX via HKG is actually the fastest route from PER to JFK, so BOS should be similar. Going via the middle east actually takes longer overall.

Tick from me, due to QF not wanting to support WA, CX is generally the most direct with routes, rather QF routing of stopping at all stations

Actually your right due to the stopover with JFK to BOS QR ends up taking longer, while CX just has a stop in HKG and then straight to Boston.

Wow thank-you madrooster! I would never have thought CX would be competitive in regards to time!

QR is starting BOS service with an A359 mid next year sometime... but I still think CX may be faster.

There's not much that QR (or EK or EY) can do given they have to go the long way round/over. That plus the poor PER>DOH/DXB/AUH flight times for connecting long-hauls to LOTFAP make it a ~40hr+ journey some times. But you might be trying for reduced stopovers.

PER>DOH>IAH, which I did recently, was a cosy 11.5h + 8h stopover + 16.5h...

JAL also appear to go direct to BOS from NRT, if only they still flew ex PER...

CX probably your best bet but I would compare the above for pricing.
