Accommodation in LRE appears to be filling up fast; if you haven't already found a place to lay your head!

Thanks for the prompt. I've just booked a room at Kinnon & Co and they advised they still have a number of rooms available even though their web site is saying nil availability.

I have booked the Hilton on the Thursday night 28/4 . Looked at the Novotel near the airport , but for $269 at the Novotel vs $108 +24000 points for the Hilton, i will be still ahead with taxis or airtrain. Now to look for LRE accomodation .

I stayed here recently and can recommend it - walking distance to Qantas museum (10 minutes) and airport (20 minutes - they do have a courtesy bus).
ALBERT PARK MOTOR INN - ACCOMMODATION & RESTAURANT - LONGREACH CENTRAL QUEENSLAND

Have also stayed here a few years ago and was quite happy. As Sam has already stated the town is easily walkable... When you go into town you just have top visit the Merino Bakery! (yes I'm a sucker for a good non-chain country bakery) So good! :)

I will also be staying at Kinnon & Co.

Rates seem to have risen to $130/night but it's still a steal for a separate sleeping/living room, kitchen facilities and location.

I recall the last time I stayed here was with penegal and jetlagger and there was plenty of space!

I hope to know about my leave in the next week or two.

Just to add to the complexity I now have a function to attend on the Wednesday following the 'do' in BNE.

An easy five and half thousand kays.

Yes, it was basic (as all accom in LRE is), but it was clean, and we had adequate amenities and privacy.

Is it worth using some QF points for a Classic Award?

Would have been a decent use of points 24K return NTL-LRE. Sadly there's no availability on either the Friday or the Sunday.
Can you do a WP seat request for Y domestic awards?
Anybody tried it ?
