G'day people,

If not obvious, I am a minor, one with an immense passion for flying however I am severely constrained by my age when it comes to the points game. Any tips for me and any others that can't apply for credit cards etc etc?

Do you earn any money?

Can you suggest to Mum &/or Dad that they get a points earning credit card (which you will pay the annual fee for) and then get them to also get a supplementary card for you?

There is a Bankwest debit card which earns points.
Also the Woolworths everyday reward card.
That can also earn points from petrol when your family fill the car.

Yes I do earn money, so you suggest I direct them to a CC (maybe with a good sign up bonus) tell them I'll shell out for the annual fee and then have them spend on it as well as me via supplementary card? And then claim all the points?

The Qantas toolbar is an obvious choice for a youngster.

Great to see you starting early.

Me being the talkative guy I am, explained all of this to my parents making them very savvy to it all. So unfortunately they will be cashing in those points on petrol for themselves :-|

Exactly. Of course, they will need to be able to trust you ;) because if you don't make the payment by the due date, they will be liable for your spend on the card.

Yes. Sorry, quoted my own post above, when I meant to quote yours.

At least they feed you and drive you places. ;)

Another one is Qantas cash, and/or Velocity global wallet, you can load your own money on and get .5 points per dollar spent
my son uses his and likes the pay wave on it which he doesn't get from his normal debit card
