Excellent news for consumers.
Competition finally in some regional areas.

N's and P's so far :p

Shame they couldn't make it work to Invercargill, but perhaps by the next time I get over there... so I can have some fresh Bluff oysters!

I see the article referenced the Q3000 aircraft... new one that?

I guess also, provided the routes do well and have good patronage, Qantas Group could potentially order some Q400's for JQ NZ in the future too.

Now, to anyone that knows the answer: in the past when QF operated in NZ they were very unreliable as their domestic fleet didn't have what their international fleet had, I believe that's RNP. Does the Q300 fleet have RNP, or is New Zealand's weather going to cause a lot of headaches for JQ and mistrust for the public?

Interesting. Just had a look at some of these new flights: "Operated by Eastern Australia Airlines for Jetstar Airways"
