Due to change in departing time of QF10 (12:05pm) I have now only 65 minutes to connect from my BA flight landing in T5.

When transferring from T5 to T3 a couple of months ago there was a long queue at security screening and it took a while.

I'm a bit worried now and not sure what to do. It's an award booing and I can't find another flight on BA, not even a day earlier and can't change QF10 because I have to be back in MEL on that specific day.

All flights are on the same PNR so QF should be aware of the short connection.
Should I risk it and hope they will wait for me or better not?

I had a very good run just over a week ago, as in plane docked at Concourse A, first off the plane, bus waiting and short security queue, and it took about 35 mins.

You need everything to go right.

Accoroding to the BA website - the minimum time for such a transfer is 90 minutes: http://www.britishairways.com/en-us...ation/london-heathrow-airport/lhr-connections

Might be worth following up with QF to see if they can get BA to open up a seat on an earlier flight for you.

There's also this link from the heathrow airport site - but it asks you to enter in your flight details and it will tell you how to complete the transfer... that might suggest the new connection time is too short, and give you some ammunition for a flight change: http://www.heathrow.com/flight-connections

Thanks for the replies.

Called the Platinum desk and was told new connection time is too short so we must find an alternative solution.

After doing some research first option was to fly BA Y (instead of J) the day before.
Flying BA Y for 5 hours plus paying for accommodation in LHR from my own pocket didn't sound like a good idea so I declined.

Eventually, after supervisor intervention I was moved to QF2 departing later that day with 8am connection to MEL. They even managed to book me a later BA flight on that day to minimise layover time in LHR.

All in all good result and good service by QF!
