I have accumulated over 400,000 Qantas points over the years. But I don't need them as I only fly with virgin. Could I exchange them for velocity points with my relatives? Your advice is much appreciated

You could buy a lot of toasters with that number of points :)

You could do some family transfers but can only transfer up to 100,000 points in each transaction though you can make 4 transactions a year.
I assume that your family members would reciprocate by transferring the Velocity points they have to you (depending on how many they have and the limit on transfers).

Welcome to AFF. I'm not sure that posting your mobile number in a public forum is a good idea.

To answer your question, you are allowed to transfer points to your family members in both the QFF and VFF programs. However with that many points why not consider a 280k RTW award.

It's a Oneworld Business Class Around the World ticket that costs 280,000 Qantas points

Edit: JT beat me to it

Why if you have 400,000 QF points would you choose VA over QF?
The one world alliance notwithstanding !

QF FF points do have a life of 18 months, if you don't somehow use them up, they will disappear from your account 18 months after accumulation.
If you don't have a use for them flight wise, you could use them for hotel stays, granted, its 40,000 QF FF points for a nights worth of sleep.
OR take a QF J dom flight, ... just to use them up, giving you access to J lounges Australia wide to the port of call you fly out from.
I weep for your QF FF account balance, wish mine was that high!

AustraliaPoochie, please!!

It's if there's no activity (earn or use) in 18 months! That's very different!

And one can earn a lot of ways - not just from flying.

I read it from the point that he/she (OP) only flies VA and that is their main airline, and was aiming to get some value from his/her QF FF points and not accrue anymore points.
But to each their own interpretation as OP hasn't elaborated.
