ANZ Platinum, 50k bonus QFF points after $1500 spend, no annual fee first year

Hi, does anyone know whether you can negotiate the minimum 15k limit on the anz black card? I'd like a lower limit (for future home loan applications) but prefer the black over the Platinum.

Also does anyone know the fx fees on either the black or platinum?

TIA :)

I
asked but couldn't. They were going to down grade me to the Platinum card. Same with Citibank. Pain. I've just managed to keep my Citibank one through a large hom loan application though.

Approved yesterday - looking forward to getting the cards next week!

Hi Has anyone joined a second time got points. again?

We opened our account around July last year, got points and closed the account March.

Do think a new application would be treated the same? I.e do you get points again?

I did the same time as you last year and just applied again tonight, so let's see what happens...

I thought last year they added "no previous anz cards in the last 12 months" for this reason. By my understanding this meant you had to close your card and then wait 12 months.

If not, Mrs Excel and I will revisit anz very shortly.

They do have that clause in the terms although I think the question we're all asking is whether they will actually enforce it.

The AMEX Velocity offer is a good example of whether they excluded current AMEX customers in their terms but still credit the points. It's surely a nightmare to manage with legacy IT systems.

Hi Guys,

After getting approved how long after do we get the Qantas passes in the mail?

Thanks,
K.

Does this offer include 2 Qantas passes ?

I thought the Qantas passes were only available with the Black card promotion.

Sorry it's only applicable to the black which is still fee free for the first year

Yes that is now the case. I missed out on basic points because I'd had the black and plat. Lodged a formal complaint and threatened to go to the ombudsman and was given the 50k as a goodwill gesture.

I closed my ANZ Platinum Account this week with the annual fee payment required imminently next week.

I called the "Account Closures Team" ( AKA- Customer retention) And I was asked why I wanted to cancel my card, for which I said I really don't want to pay for the annual fee yet again after holding the card for three years previously.
I was put on hold for approximately 5 minutes, and when I spoke to the operator I was told that they looked into my profile and as i did not hold other accounts with ANZ they were not prepared to waive the annual fee.
I was offered other cards with lower Annual Fees, although I pointed out that I'm not interested In earning lower QFF earn rates.
So Naturally ANZ & I have parted ways, although I was invited to apply again in the future for a new Credit Card.

In the meantime, the CBA diamond Card does me fine with no annual fee, (as I hold a Wealth Package with them) along with the same earn rate ( even better for MC) & the use of the Amex lounge in SYD.

I used the ANZ secure mail to cancel my card on the weekend. Logged into netbank yesterday and still had not been read.
Tried to login today and got the message "this netbank client number has been disabled".
Would this be normal for ANZ to also delete my netbank?
This is the only account with ANZ.

Thanks

I didn't realise the CBA diamond card gave you access to Amex lounge in SYD?

Yes, Two visits per year apparently.
Not visited myself as of yet, obviously the QF Flounge is better if travelling on QF/OW.

My son has used the Amex loge on several occasions.
Better than nothing.
