QF did not come first - clearly the study is flawed.

Oh c'mon! Seriously? There's no chance TG comes ahead of QF. The only thing TG would win would be the extra 1 inch of legroom in economy. Otherwise across the board QF beats them hands-down. While the survey sings the praises of NZ's 'hilarious' safety videos and 'winged-headrests' (seriously??) it conveniently forgets to mention 3-4-3 seating on 777s.

I think results like TG and NZ call the whole survey into question.

Supposedly the list was selected by the readers. Who often have impressions about airlines based on advertising of J and F and hilarious safety videos. It's like all the people who think EK are a great airline because they offer 30kg baggage in Y

I think EK are best known for their suites and showers in F. I talked to many people who never flew anything but Y and they all seem to know EK's premium product. Problem is they also think EK's Y product must be the best in the category (which in reality is far from it) .

Well that's not my view. Based on my experience in C class on TG's 77W's and 380's on the European (and Japanese) routes, the hard product beats QF and the service provided by the TG FA's is generally superior. What's your experience with these TG products?

I do however accept that the old heaps (772 and 744) TG flies into Australia are below par in most respects.

I haven't flown business class on TG's 77Ws or 380s, but their F is not to QF's standard. Hard product aside, the soft product (meals/wines/amenity kits) would be the same - and not comparable to QF's.

Possibly no surprise as 60% of Fortune's Asian readers are from Singapore and Hong Kong.

Matt
PS, an one can take it that Fortune readers don't fly Y :D

I'm not sure QF F is so much better then TG F (on new 747/380 cabins). Personally I prefer TG's mini-suite style. Service - can't fault any of them. Meals - caviar and lobster compared to an average tasting menu. Wines - similar quality spirits and champagne but QF wins with the reds. Amenity kits - TG's by far more impressive (the case that is).

Sorry - I wasn't clear... I'd gone back to talking about TG's business class - meals/wines/amenity kits - not comparable to QF's. First class I agree is a little more closely matched... each have their pros and cons.

Ah ok, no worries. The only thing I like about TG J is their 1-2-1 cabin (if you're lucky enough to get it) but now when QF introduced their own 1-2-1 (better) J cabin they win over TG in every category.

Did anyone else find it amusing that the CX plane pictured at number four was actually a cargo plane?

My point exactly :)

lol, I missed that

You could ask 10 people and probably get 10 different answers. No US carriers?

Haven't tried a few of those carriers in economy so they would not make my top 10 list.
