Thank you so much for your time & effort in your excellent tr & pictures. I feel like I've just returned from overseas, well done.

Really enjoyed your TR and both sets of photos.Especially those of more rural Turkey.

When is your next trip?

We leave at the end of August for a few days on the Rovos Rail from Victoria Falls to Pretoria then a week split between two &Beyond lodges in the Kruger area. Only away for a couple of weeks though. Daughter is joining us for the safari (with her own lodge of course).
Am still allowed to get green eyed reading others' wonderful trip reports :)

We might bump into each other :) we leave on 8 Sep for South Africa - Cape Town, Babylonstoren for the wedding, then Botswana for 6 nights then home. We will be overnighting at the Intercontinental at JNB airport 3 times, so you never know - I will have to keep an eye on your trip report! Hope you have a great time - remember not to pat Lion cubs or walk with lions!

We've got 2 overnighters at IC at the airport and a couple of nights in JNB but suspect we will be ships in the night, so to speak.
The photos will not be the same fantastic quality of those you have posted FM.

I am sure they will be - those animals are so photogenic!

We were in Kruger a few years back and the animals were just amazing so we are looking forward to the trip. Hopefully daughter will get the same buzz as we did the first time. If not, oh dear!

We took our two daughters and our daughter's partner to Mala Mala and Camp Jabulani last year and they were totally blown away!

Great read, thank you, FM.

We began our recent European trip the same day you departed on yours and must have passed through LHR and the T5 Lounge within hours of you. (Not that we would have recognised each other, unfortunately. :))

Your Turkish itinerary mirrored much of our tour the previous year, so brought back good memories, particularly of Cappadocia, which was a brilliant experience.

Your Venetian adventures and gorgeous pictures reflected our numerous visits, too. A lasting favourite for us, with the recurring excuse of a visit to the alternating Art and Architecture biennale exhibitions.

Thanks to both you and Mr FM for sharing. :)

We enjoyed all the places we went to, but I think Cappadocia was our favourite - the combination of friendly people and landscape was hard to beat.

Yes, plus the cave hotels and the hot air balloon rides. I've avoided the latter always but, as I was advised when planning the trip: "If you are are ever going to do one, this is the place to do it."

As a result of flight delays, we had only an hour's sleep between arriving at our hotel, after a long day of travel, and being woken for our transfer to the balloon site. And yet it was worth it. Our pilot was the person who had set up the operation, so we had a real treat, including a final landing right on the bed of the truck. Amazing. :)

So have you done any balloon rides since? We are very scared of heights, but this was so easy we are considering doing more in future - particularly would like to do one in Tanzania.

Excellent TR

Yosemite and that meal in San Fran looks like an awesome way to end the trip ... I think we're done doing matching wines too!

No. :)
I wasn't interested before doing that one. It was excellent - but that was because of the unique terrain, a glorious morning sky, and the expertise of the pilot.

Have now ticked the box. :)

No interest in repeating the experience. I spend a good chunk of my life at 30,000 feet, so happy to do that at the pointy end of an A380, rather than standing in a basket. Better Champagne, too. :)

That is on my Bucket list. Trouble is, MrP does not want to go to Africa. Period.
