Cathay Lounge at Manila

AustBT reports new lounge open:

Cathay Pacific opens new Manila airport lounge - Australian Business Traveller

One of the best lounges in one of the worst airports in the region.

It's improving, still not amazing, but the move to Terminal 3 is seeing some good changes happening... slowly...

Qantas is still using the old Cathay lounge, which is appalling. I don't go to Manila often, but think next time will consider Cathay for various reasons, including avoiding the redeye QF20.

Qantas is now using a lounge on the other pier, which IIRC used to be the DL lounge. It is much better than the old CX lounge.

I may be wrong, but I think they swap the lounge they use depending on which gate the aircraft arrives on, at least thats the impression I was given, with both lounges run by the same operator now.

The lounge I mentioned was in use in my last 2 flights ex-MNL, which left from different piers. The area occupied by the old CX lounge (as well as the old QF lounge) is currently under renovation.

...and, just to make a liar of me, QF are now back to using the former CX lounge for MNL departures. This has been (temporarily?) re-badged as the PAGSS lounge, which was previously the old SQ lounge.
