I have received this email a few times now. Check email and fares not listed.

Flying from Brisbane to Sydney? Secure the right fare, for the right price. Find the best Virgin Australia fare on offer. Click on Find Flights and there aren't any specials.

Look further down email.

More great value fares from Brisbane

Brisbane to Melbourne from $189
Brisbane to Adelaide from $185
Brisbane to Perth from $299

Why send this email? Their sales fares have been ordinary recently, Happy Hour bordering on pathetic and they want to remind me of their great value everyday fares?

Anyone else get this spam? Very disappointing.

Yes I've been getting frustrated by this lately. The location in subject line tends to be about a destination I've queried flights for recently, and then the examples in the email are for completely different destinations.

How many people do they expect to search flights for a destination, not book it and then book a different destination just because they've been emailed about?

I'm unsure why anyone is surprised. VA marketing is not known (IMHO) for being very clever. I think their standard operating procedure has embossed on the front cover "How to cheese off your customers".

I guess one of the benefits of VA finding it impossible to actually email me, also means I don't get their spam!

When they become as clever as QF marketing, they won't even bother referring to flights in emails, they'll just try to sell you wine, golf packages or other unrelated flotsam for you to earn 'valuable' points

Urgh I get this all the time even if I have made a booking!!!

Our corp travel system is amazing (I can see so much more info there) but to use that I have to log in, create a draft trip, cost centres ETC. So normally my first port of call is the VA website if I want to know something really quick.

Problem being that is even if I then make a booking, which is through our corporate portal, and I can see it in my VFF future bookings screen. 9/10 times I will get the email telling me not to miss these great fares, AND offer me totally different destination.

If I am searching BNE-MEL there is a good chance I really don't care about BNE-ADL, let alone if I have already booked BNE-MEL.
