Just decided to browse through THIS thread, as I've got an 'issue' on the other BankWest thread ( about the QANTAS Transaction account ).

Amazing the difference in attitude, between users of BW's credit card products, and the BW transaction account users ...

Why is this ???

Almost everyone on the 'other' thread totally agrees with everything BW does / says ... here, people have a 'lesser' opinion of them ??

Definitely many hassles for me. I've just received news that after 4 week my card has been approved - although I haven't received it yet.

Mrs Ralph who has an income of over $200K is still waiting!

I'll be churning as soon as possible!!

5 weeks after applying my card finally arrived with of all things a CD containing the terms and conditions - how 1990's BankWest!

If only they were like the 1990's BankWest. Their call centre used to be fantastic, but now, the wait times (particularly for the card team) have gone bad, generally 10-15 minutes per call.

Staff at the centre are still good and helpful but it just takes a while to get to them.

I find the on line chat is fast and very useful.

Not at all related but i applied for an AMEX Platinum edge card (and supplementary) last Tuesday evening. Instant approval and both cards were in my letter box on Friday morning. Had PIN setup and was using by Friday afternoon.

That is how you provide an amazing customer experience.... How can bankwest get it so wrong.

Unfortunately they are getting it hopelessly wrong.

I've just about spent my $2500 and will then stop and wait for the points. Card will be immediately cancelled. I don't intend to give BankWest anything extra.

I've done the same recently. Didn't approve immediately but I received a text the next morning advising it had been approved. The card was in the mailbox 48 hours later.

My referrer also received their referral points virtually instantly.

Impressed so far with Amex

Applied and conditionally approved and sent through payslips as per their request. I will share my experience.

My experience was exemplary. Approved on the spot (credit check done quickly), card arrived a few days later. They are either very very good, or very very bad.

Hmmmm, I was conditionally approved last Thursday (6 days ago) and sent my pay slips immediately. If I don't hear anything by Friday I might give them a follow up call to see where the application is at.

wow, that doesn't look very promising, my experience with collecting credit cards from other institutions have been super fast.

Mine too. Bankwest has been the worst.

Applied and conditionally approved 16th April and sent supporting documents straight away.

I hadn't heard anything as of yet so I just gave them a call and before I was put through to a CSA they had a recorded message saying that they received higher than expected credit card applications and that they apologise for the delay. The lady I spoke to confirmed that all documents were received although it's generally taking approximately 2 weeks for the assesment and confimation to be done. For anyone else it might be worth calling through just in case that puts a priority on the application (not sure but can't hurt) as she said I should expect to have it confirmed by Wednesday.

I applied for this one about a month ago and am still waiting. Looks like they are severely backlogged with applications.

Cross posted from the woolies thread:

Received a postal offer dated 23/04 from BankWest for a mastercard , (just two days before my woolies mastercard was deactivated, coincidence? :) )

It is offering 50,000 points, I would be interested but the rate is only .75 of a point per dollar.

Also being retired, the paperwork for the QCU card was onerous as my income streams haven't been finalised as yet, should be sorted soon though.

I'd recomend giving them a call, might bump you up the list considering I applied a week ago and the CSA advised it should be approved Wednesday.

Yeah, I have spoken to them a couple of times when supplying extra documentation but no word for a couple of weeks now. Might call them.
