Hi all,

Two separate business trips

Return HKG to SIN (CX 711 Arr 8-20 pm). Same evening SIN-SYD (QF6 leave 11:50 pm).
Obviously lots of time, but can I check my luggage through even though they are on separate tickets, as both carriers are One World?

I spoke to our work travel agent, who said I would need to ask CX in HKG when I checked in. I thought One World would allow this. I have done the same with NZ to SQ on separate tickets with Star Alliance.

Thanks

Yes normally. We have done this but need to double check with staff at the chicken.

yes - CX will do it without hesitation. Separate tickets matter not... simply present both of them at check-in.

Yes it will be fine, without hesitation they checked my bags from KUL-HKG (CX) & HKG-SYD (QF) on separate tickets.

A good checkin person will ask you final destination and try and route all the way.

yes oneworld rules stipulate this - i have done the same itinerary checking in at HK F without issue, just have the connecting flight itinerary on hand

... plus SIN is one airport where they seem to positively insist that bags are through-checked.
