Hi all,

In trying to plan a future trip I was attempting to maximise my points and SC earn and was looking for codeshare options for that reason.

Is it just me or is the Virgin Australia website lacking when it comes to booking codeshare flights that don't either originate or terminate in Australia? Is the Guest Contact Centre any better in this regard?

VA can only codeshare on flights that include to/from Australia .... ie cannot book a stand alone AUH LHR on a VA code without a SYD AUH attached

Are you certain on that?

When I was in the US, many Delta flights I took domestically had VA flight numbers attached on top of the normal DL flight number.

Yeah it will be in the ticketing rules - its like when VA BNE-CNS has a SQ code share, even though it might pop up in a fare display it is only allowed to ticketed with a connecting SQ flight.

To quote a friend of mine, bugger!

Thanks for clearing what up.

99.9999999% certain .... Did you book a stand alone VA*DL segment ( ie no VA flight to / from Australia) or are you talking about the displays ?

These flights have TR (traffic restrictions) on them

I'm just talking about the displays. I made the assumption that the VA flight number being displayed meant it was available as VA flight without an onward connection on VA metal.
