Bankwest Transaction account [General Discussion]

By the way, in regards to statement, I mean one that is issued after the beginning of a new month!

I hope.you will be getting statements/bills online, as phone bill could be over 100+ pages long, BW Statement ususally issued each day for around 10 pages per statement.

Points are usually transferred over to QFF by the 8th of each month.

Just looked at my statement for 1 April and another month, another 30k+ QFF pts earned! Hard to believe that this account has been going on for 12 months! Although I didn't begin making any transactions until the initial 10k pt bonus was credited at the start of August.

Are you using software to run the Virgin mobile transactions or doing it manually? I haven't been able to make a macro work on their website.

Using software, it's just a standard macro recorder that uses keyboard and mouse positions. Doesn't need to detect anything on the website.
How do you get 30k points a month. Is this with mutiple accounts or can you do more than 50 transactions per account?

NVM figured it out.
Also got my April 1 statement today and some points are posted. Lets hope this continues :)

I was just thinking how good it used to be, when I used to be able to set imacro to do the Telstra payments, go away and make a cup of tea, and come back to find them all done. Unlike lately, when I'm lucky to get 5 payments done using the refresh method, before one or another Telstra issue arises to kill the process.

I would never have thought Optus payments would be easier (& less time consuming) than Telstra's.

Is there any other way to restart the refresh method, other than entering all the data again?

I wonder if all these issues with Telstra payments, are Telstra's solution to all those 1¢ payments.

Spoke too soon.

After loads of frustration over 3.5 hours, got an unbroken run 35 payments, only ended because the card hit it's limit. In the end persistence did pay off. But I watched the whole run because I didn't trust it would work!

So maybe it's just down to luck (when you pay), rather than malicious intent on Telstra's part.

I allow for all the failure attempts by just updating the max repeat from 50, to 60+.

I alsp check my special telstra email folder, in which once I see another 50 hit the folder, all has been completed :)

But are they failures that generate an error message (an error) or a failure to finish loading the receipt, before the next reload starts (a missed payment)?

Got two good runs of payments today, using the refresh method. It was just like the good old days!

What frustrates me the most, is when you get an error message, immediately after pressing yes on the duplicate payment warning page. Because not only can't you refresh the page for another payment, but the payment that led to the duplicate payment warning failed too.

So one error has killed two or (lots) more payments.

Try using the back button until you get back to the refresh. That's worked for me before.

Thanks for the solutions guys.

I spent the previous 8 days doing only Optus payments and late last night, did my first Telstra payments since then. It was quite a shock just how bad they were. I'd read about other people's experiences, but I didn't realise just how bad it was, until I experienced it myself. I did seriously consider whether to abandon Telstra payments altogether, and just do Optus for the foreseeable future.

I've not really been having any major problems over the last few days. A couple of times the macro has kicked-in and restarted but most of the time they've just run through first time without a hitch. Perhaps the wait times need to be increased.

Guys if you're having problems with the Telstra payments, it is 100% your connection speed.
I gave up for a while because it was unbearable but then tried using alternative connections based on comments here (instead of my telstra 3g and home internet, i now use internet at work or my partner's telstra 4g) and now I'm back up and running with zero error messages.

You know, I'm really 'pis*ed off' with hearing all these reports, about people getting "30,000 points a month" by paying their 'phone accounts' with online methods etc. etc.

BankWest said to me, their issue centres on "paying for goods and services ( in small amounts ), that are normally paid in full ...".

WHAT'S THE DAMN DIFFERENCE !!!

Why can you guys get away with ONE CENT transactions - and get UP TO 30,000 points a month - and I got canned for less ( transactions in person ) ??

I've been following every comment here, and it just sux, as far as I'm concerned.

FOS, have advised, they consider, that BankWest have covered themselves very well ( T&Cs etc. )

It doesn't look like I will get anything out of this ... but I did try - because to me, it didn't seem fair. AND IT STILL DOESN'T !!!

Basically dude you totally abused it instead of trying to fly under the radar. Chalk it up to a lesson learned and stop reading the thread.

Why would anybody in their right mind want to go to the supermarket everyday to do hundreds of transactions instead of just clicking.
