Hi all,

I've had a quick search but apologies if this has been covered before.

How do I find the fare class associated with my ticket? It says it's a MH Basic fare and I just want to work out if I can get any points earn on AA or QF or whether I credit to a newly minted Enrich account.

Cheers! :)

From the airline earning table only kmlvbhy on MH earn with QFF. I'd guess MH basic is none of those fares.

I also expect this will only earn @25% in MH Enrich and nothing with partner airline programs. To be sure call MH with your booking reference (5 letter code). If hold times are long leave your number so they can call you back. They can tell you.

Thanks for this - though the code seems to be 8 letters rather than 5? NLLTOWAU?

So I guess it is N class?

1.1 fare cls explanation book codes -------- ---------------------- ---------- nlltowau fare by rule n no booking code exceptions for carrier - use prime rule - 912/ib30 base - 008/au60 note - general rule does not apply mh special ibf fare - within area 03 application class of service these fares apply for first/business/economy class service. types of transportation this rule governs one-way and round-trip fares. fares governed by this rule can be used to create one-way/round-trip/circle-trip/open-jaw journeys.

So no mileage earn on AA. None on QF so I guess the Enrich account will get a little bit of love. No complaints - got an absolute BARGAIN of a fare BNE-xKUL-KTM and the chance for a paid upgrade. Might as well get any points I can out of it though. :)

The 5 letters refers to the booking reference. That 8 letter thing is the fare code.

Hi Medhead,

Thanks for your input - so if my booking code is KF#$% then my booking class would be 'K'?

That earns 70% base miles (and 0.5 EQP) for AA and 0.25 for QF.

Wow - I didn't expect it to earn anything much... No brainer of who to credit to there. Sweet.

Thanks for your good tidings! :)

The 5 digit code is just the booking reference that the airline can use to reference your booking. It has nothing to with the fare paid. If you ever speak to the airline or want to submit a MHupgrade bid you use the reference

The longer code starting with N is the fare type and the first letter indicates the booking class you will earn miles on. Sorry to bearer of bad news. But it looks like you can only earn Enrich points.

Ok so I was right the first time - no problems - I would have been mighty surprised to earn 70% on AA. Just got confused as it was 8 characters instead of 5.

Thanks anyway.
