Just got a 'phone message from Jetstar's booking (overseas call centre with low paid slightly nervous with their limited English operators) office to say no more access to Qantas business lounges for Jetstar business max customers from some date in April!! Do I want a partial refund to a base business fare or a full refund?? Bummer!! Rather look foreward to the Q business lounge. Also got a confusingly different quote for applicable status credits. Told her I'd think about it; the flights' not 'till Oct. anyway (mel-tokyo/narita) Any one else? Am I the first?

re: No more access for Jetstar business customers to Qantas business lounges??

Business Max fare still showing lounge access on bookings from May on JQ's website...

re: No more access for Jetstar business customers to Qantas business lounges??

What are your exact flights? International or mix of domestic and international? Business lounge is the base level lounge for international flights, I can't see how there is no lounge access when it is a listed inclusion for business max.

re: No more access for Jetstar business customers to Qantas business lounges??

If this change goes ahead I can't see myself ever booking on JQ again. They've lost the plot if true.

re: No more access for Jetstar business customers to Qantas business lounges??

No mix! JQ23/Mel-Tokyo Narita & JQ24/Tokyo Narita-Mel. Both direct business max. The first flight is a very late dep. (23.45hrs) Could the lounge be closed?

Ah, but remember how they simply deleted the Chauffer Drive service from pax who had booked with it :-|

To the OP. Today was St Patrick's day. Did you happen to hear a peal of Irish laughter in the background of the call?

re: No more access for Jetstar business customers to Qantas business lounges??

I can see a reason for them to remove Flounge access, especially considering all the frivolity that has been arranged courtesy of what I'd seem to be a loophole. But to remove access to their most basic lounge can only lead to anger and bad PR.

re: No more access for Jetstar business customers to Qantas business lounges??

They killed MASA because of the cost of SC/points. In doing so they seemed to have no concept of increasing the price to recover the cost. So they very well could be deluded. This also raises the question of QFF status access when flying with JQ.

Ta.

Doesn't the MEL lounge stay open for the EK flight to KUL at 2 am?

re: No more access for Jetstar business customers to Qantas business lounges??

It does stay open for qf9 though

re: No more access for Jetstar business customers to Qantas business lounges??

No the EK lounge stays open for the EK flight.

Thought someone told me it stays open late now. Maybe for QF331 operated by CZ?

Or QF9 then...

re: No more access for Jetstar business customers to Qantas business lounges??

QF J and F lounges close at 23:15 when QF 9 is called for boarding

re: No more access for Jetstar business customers to Qantas business lounges??

Aaah ... maybe some confusion - I saw somewhere today that JQ at NRT are moving to T3 on (IIRC) April 8th - perhaps they won't be able to access the QF lounge at T2.

Not sure about MEL though ...

Here's some more (Terminal 3 is set up as a LCC Terminal):

Airline Information | Flight Information | Narita International Airport Terminal 3

Both the MEL QF J and F lounges currently close at 22:45. So JQ J Max pax should get access until then, but then be kicked out.

But if you book JQ J Max for late this year (eg NOV) it still shows lounge access at MEL but not at NRT T3. I guess that's the ptoblem.

Yes, as I posted, Jetstar is moving the the NRT "LCC" t3 on April 8th, so after the move, there's no access to the Qantas lounge in the T2 Satellite.

Yes but the OP implied a total lounge access loss. Seems MEL will still be available and QF might even extend its hours a bit.

Regardless, the "No more access for Jetstar business customers to Qantas business lounges" seems wrong. As, even now, it depends on the route. If NRT T3 gets a lounge, perhaps JQ will use it. It seems there's no lounge at all in NRT T3 today.

So that was something along the lines of them reducing the cost of the Max package to compensate for the loss of lounge access while still giving you SCs?
