As a Etihad gold member, do I get any lounge access when traveling from Sydney to Singapore in economy on a flight booked on the Virgin Australia website but is operated by Singapore airlines?

I think most likely the answer is no. I was flying VA from MEL to CHC last month and the check in agent suggested I can only use the domestic lounge if I really want.
