Not sure if this is the right place, but can anyone please tell me the chances of a points upgrade from PE to J on Sunday (1st March) for QF17?

I am WP and PE is looking full, but never been able to understand Expert Flyer!

Many thanks

Put in a "(bid)" or use the old way.
On QFi its a gamble, but you as WP will have the better chance, apart from (as mentioned before), P1 & CL to get an upgrade.
Me as SG will be down the back of the line, if I ever have to do it.
But now with the cash pay chance of an upgrade, guess its now harder to getint upgrade, using points only, as some other WP/P1/CL person might be willing to pay $ to get to J.
Best of luck.
I have liked my TT J seats, have done it with JC and EK.
Edit: Flightaware gives the plane as a 747, not 380 though.

I thought it was only possible to bid for an upgrade if QF offered it to you?
And those offers are only extended on fares that you couldn't use the "old way" of upgrading on points alone.

Except QF points upgrades are processed before any "bid" upgrades.

Ahh yes, that was too easy, isn't it, (didn't have time to chase up), but aye, as it turns out, like (Air) NZ's system, for the cash and points, you have to wait (if and until you get the email offer), ...
Or just use up your total QF FF points balance, (ala old way), to see if you will succeed, but unlike dom upgrades, no cert till close to flight time.
Ok, I still have a long way to go! Still.
The cash and points bid might be good for some, but not for me, as my opportunities as a QF SG member, is down the back. Ie, no chance on a 12 J seated narrow body 737 (using totally points only) TT!
Ok, will try to take it slower.
Edit: um, points upgrades go before the bid system? Another thing learnt.

Thanks Guys

Points upgrade went in some time ago. On the booking there is not a 'paid' upgrade option - and I don't think you can ask for one?

Was wanting to see if anyone can provide the EF data for the load to see how J is looking?

Thanks

Bugger - even without understanding all the fare catagories that looks like a full flight!

Thanks for the info - looks like a few wines are in order in the lounge to prepare...

Just to fill in any gaps J C D and I are all fare categories of business class, U are upgrade / award seats to business class. W R and T are premium economy fare buckets and from Y down are economy fares.

The numbers are therefore showing there is 1 business class seat left to purchase no premium economy and some economy

Not looking good at this stage but all hope should not be lost as regular checking particularly close to the departure date will usually show changes as bookings change

Good luck
