So who's going to the opening GP?

Think I'll be watching from the lunge room this year but would like to get to an OS round this year.. anyone been to the Chinese GP?

Ouch, tough way to watch a GP.

Only done KL and Suzuka myself, but been told by a few people who have done lots more, that Shanghai is pretty good.

KL is a great track and very well priced. Out of Sydney, KL is much cheaper than Melbourne inclusive of flights, hotels and track tickets. Only downside is the track is near the airport, a good 45 main (and more on Sunday) from the CBD.

Equally believe Shanghai is a decent distance from most accommodation.

Have been thinking KL for a few years but with more work trips to China (albeit the south), hoping I could squeeze a weekend in for the GP!

I didn't get to any races this year.

Report card: Must do better

There must have been a itch some way along the year

Hello all.
Great to see a F1 community here.
i really wish I could go to melbourne this year. Sadly living in perth it's too far and too exccy at the moment.
I went to the singapore GP last year & to be honest I still prefer our GP. I just love the atmosphere in the city which isn't the same in singapore.

hopefully mclaren can do well this year. :-D

Surely from PER you would be supporting our man Dan! :)

Yes, off to Melboune in just over a month for the GP. Excited is an understatement.

Tentative plans for Singapore later in the year but is very much subject to change. Can be a touch more expensive getting to SIN from ADL compared to MEL but when there is a will there is a way.

I sure do. Used to race at the same kart club as him, although before his time & clearly well below his level :p

I enjoyed seeing Williams do well last year & would like to see them continue that as well as mclaren making it interesting this year. Hopefully it won't be a one team show again this year.
im feeling quite jealous of those going to this years event.

Mr KLN is up at Bathurst as we speak, i didn't go as all grandstand tix were sold and he was going to go GA. he relented when he got there and i had to quickly organise a corporate spot for him. wished i'd gone. he has also done Le Mans 2012

Let us know if you can organise corporate access at F1 gp's too! :)

What did you think of Shanghai GP? I normally only go GA but haven't been to the Chinese GP so interested in accommodation, travel etc Familiar with South China however not up the north!

Been watching Bathurst12hr since 0530 this morning... getting a little tired now but enjoying it nonetheless!

would love to try out F1 Corporate access. no such luck there.

Shanghai GP is great. we always sit high at the top of the main grandstand. that way you can see lots of the track. really only sit there for Qualy and Race though. spend FP1 / 2 and 3 trying out all the other corners. usually try out a bike ride in between sections too. great now that you can get the train out there too.

Yeah, great to see him do well.
We're lucky to have him representing our country. Such an incredibly nice guy.

Usually someone with his talent and skill, you may expect them to be quite smug like his former team mate. But from everything I have seen he is just a genuinely nice person. Always has a smile on his face, always happy. That's the kind of person I'd like to represent our country.
