I heard on the grapevine Hilton was returning to Maldives post Iru Fushi.

That's it. Nothing else........but from a reliable source.

Hopefully this not "old" news.

They are already in Rangali, you mean they are going back to iru fushi? I doubt it, to be honest. Not really an issue either way, I have too many HH points as it

Can you give any more details on that please? The missus and I are tossing between Hilton Bora Bora or a return to Conrad Maldives next year... Any chance you heard anything about complementary upgraded? ;)
TBH there is a total lack of diamond recognition there at that resort.

There isn't that much for returning guests, from the FT thread. It's huge and of course experiences vary, but seems like it is island host dependant. The afternoon tea is now for returning guests only, I believe, but this is more of an "enhancement" than anything else.

That said, it seems to be miles ahead of the Bora Bora property; purely based on reviews and reports as I've not been there. I'm heading back to the Maldives this year.

Definitely "enhancement", a strange one.

Well it is Conrad vs. Hilton...
According to the emails I've exchanged with Hilton, they guaranteed at least one base upgrade for diamonds and very possible another one to over water villa if there is availability on the day. This is quite generous compared to Conrad who offered nothing as diamond when stayed there the first time, so I would be interested to hear if they now offer any incentives to returning guests.

No, not really. I'm just going from what some guests told us. They were return guests (for 10 years, every year) and they said they were very happy with the recognition for them. I must of been too relaxed, as I failed to ask just what that entailed, but I'm guessing an upgrade may have been there, but I'm not entirely sure. Sorry.
