Gday,
I am a semifrequent flyer NB QFF (and Red Velocity).
I have 210, 000 QFF points- mostly from credit cards.

Im moving to the UK for two years, then back to Australiam permanently.

Anyone know of any UK credit cards that can transfer to QFF?

Or any obvious alternatives i dont know about?

Cheers

Considering that you cannot join QFF in the UK (likewise cannot join BA's FF program living in Australia), I would not like your chances unfortunately.

I'd be just looking at Avios, or even better, AA.

I use a Citi US card as mine has no foreign exchange fees and so I earn AA miles on all my UK purchases. I get more than one AA mile per pound of course on the World Elite MasterCard and that is ruled by the exchange rates of the day.
Now an AA mile is worth about 2 Qantas points so I have found a "sweet spot" by earning this way.

The Frequent Flyer Concierge team takes the hard work out of finding reward seat availability. Using their expert knowledge and specialised tools, they'll help you book a great trip that maximises the value for your points.

Bankwest have a no FX fee MasterCard that earns QF points but you pay an annul fee.
The conversation rate is with MasterCard rate back to AUD.
Some of us got our cards upgraded the The World card for the same fee as their previous Platinum card.
Fee is about $130 p.y and earns 1 QF point per dollar plus comes with insurances and other stuff.
The bankwest Android app is also excellent with charges appearing instantly when you swipe your card anywhere.
We are currently smashing this card in Spain without a hiccup.

The problem I am still finding using Australian Credit Cards in the UK, is not being able to use PIN, it automatically makes us sign. This is painful as the UK sales staff are not used to this and I am quite often accused of pushing cancel instead of putting in my PIN, so they try it multiple times, then get a supervisor.

We've fixed this by Mrs Reggie getting local accounts and recently approved for a Vanquis CC (at 69.9% APR ) which should set her up with a credit rating for a proper card.

Thanks team.

I think I would rather use a UK CC than an international one.

Ive always thought about moving to AA, so I might look into that more.

Your biggest issue will be getting a credit card with rewards. Without a living history, and local credit history will be very difficult.
There is a very good AA earning card in the UK (MBNA AA), but you'd likely need at least a year of living history, and good credit scoring during that time.

Do you have an Australian Amex? If not, and you have more than 3 months before you move, get one. When you have an Amex, getting it transferred to a UK Amex is relatively simple: https://www.americanexpress.com/global-card-transfers/

Not true, I joined when in the UK

likewise cannot join BA's FF program living in Australia.

This is true though, hence why I still have a UK address

Not always as easy as you think, we tried that coming from the UK to AUS but due to being self employed they want 2 years accounts before issuing a card, even if you are a high earner, so it depends on circumstances.

The AA card is good but also consider the BA Amex + Amex Gold charge card then shop in Tesco and transfer the Clubcard points over to Avios which as good redemptions in AUS
