I really hate Jetstar...

Booked SIN-KUL-SIN flights on Jetstar Asia earlier this year for travel in Dec as part of a trip with flights booked on QF between SYD & SIN (separate bookings). Original KUL-SIN flight (connecting to SIN-SYD flight on QF) cancelled. Moved to alternative flight. Just found out that the original flight has been re-instated. Call JQ up to get back on the original flight. Get told I will have to pay fare difference. It's just outrageous that 1) I wasn't notified that my original flight had been re-instated and 2) I would have to pay extra to get back on the flight I was originally on that JQ/3K cancelled in the first place!

To make the whole affair even more insulting, when I rang JQ, the girl on the phone said that the flight I wanted to get back on didn't exist! I informed her that it was because I had that flight up on my screen as part of a dummy booking. She then confirmed the existence of this flight when she checked more carefully. She also confirmed that my original booking had that original flight but insisted that I had to pay the fare difference to get back on it because I had accepted a change to an alternative already when my original flight was cancelled. Hello!! Jetstar was the one who cancelled that flight in the first place and made me choose an alternative!!! FFS! I really hate Jetstar...:evil:
 
HUCA? Push for a supervisor? Not that I'm too sure that it would solve the issue (which is ridiculous in the first place)
 
I just ended up paying the fare difference, which wasn't that much, to get back on my original flight. I just needed to vent really. I've just made a promise to myself that I will NEVER book another Jetstar flight again.

I don't have them as an absolute never but they are not on my normal list of airlines that I consider flying when planning a trip.
 
We vowed never to fly JQ again after selling some tickets SYD/HNL/SYD (had the change package), they carried on something terrible saying we had to pay up to change names only, had 3 different answers from 3 different reps, in the end had to pay up to get it done as we were heading off overseas, the attitude of operators really stinks too.
 
JQ is a fine LCC as long as everything goes to plan.
Dealing with their customer service can be a painful ordeal and not something I recommend doing while sober :p
 
I have had to fly JQ regularly between Melbourne and Cairns because there is no alternative for the times I fly. I have been pleasantly surprised by the response I have received from their call centre on the two occasions I have needed to call - maybe a time will come. But JQ are a LCC - and while its a bit like taking a 3 hour bus trip I have experienced much worse on other LCC both domestically and overseas. Boomy is right - as long as everything is going to plan you get what you pay for. Although I must admit some of their fares from Melbourne to Cairns during certain times are ridiculously high - and are to be avoided at all cost. One thing I must praise them for - they are a bit vigilant about protecting the overhead space for those who have paid for upfront seats.

I hope they don't cancel your new original flight again.

Don't have any respect for Jetstar or their staff.

The airline to be flown only if one's life is in danger. And even then careful consideration is required....

They clearly follow a script and it's like talking to a brick wall (that you so want to punch but you know it will only cause you pain instead rather than them).
 
seem not to have any priority as QF SG in getting fwd seats. Can if I pay $6, which I have held out on doing, just on principle. I suppose $6 isn't that much to be principled about, can't do it for free online as booked through corporate TA.

Anyone got a good 'hack' for getting better seats without paying? Call Centre said that they don't release better seats at T-24 like QF do.

I've had good luck with getting favourable seats as a QP PS when checking in for a JQ domestic flight at a QP. I'm at 4/5 for being moved into either row 1 or an exit row. All these flights have been on the 320 and I have purchased a plus pack (so already had a standard seat allocated).

Of course, YMMV, and this may just have been lounge staff being extra nice
