Priority boarding on QF domestic - what is the story?

SGs have always had access to the premium security lane, I don't see why they shouldn't get priority boarding as well. It's all the NBs in the priority lane we should be concerned about, not the SGs!

QF could also have three separate lanes. I boarded a UA flight recently and there were six separate lanes.

Perhaps something to do with the recent changes to OW on 1 Dec? The OW website does lists under Sapphire benefits

When your top tier status is equivalent to oneworld Sapphire, you are entitled to the following oneworld benefits, no matter which oneworld airline or cabin class you are flying:

  • Priority Boarding

If this is correct, I suppose it eliminates confusion for SG's who had priority on QF International but not on Domestic

That is really poxy! Sorry but i don't think SG's should be in premium boarding lanes.

Very disappointing QF!

Redroo care to share any info on this "enhancement"

QF could not get PB to work 99.9% of the time, so I do not think that this change will make the complete debacle that is PB any worse. Closes the very small gap between SG and WP a little more however.

Speaking as a current SG, I disagree. If I can do it on international flights, why not domestic, that just causes more confusion and less compliance.

Perhaps the work experience kids carted in one of the signs bound for the international terminal (where, as mentioned previously, SG has Priority Boarding).

Well, VA have PB for gold, so why not QF?

Agree that it is inconsistent to have PB for QFi and not domestic.

Liking this enhancement!

Also like the way AA actually tells people they are wrong and they need to wait to board, think of the options the passenger has in the US, yet they feel compelled to pull them up and have a go, sweet.

Was told off in a rather rude and condescending way by AA in JFK boarding a flight to LHR once for boarding in the wrong group. Certainly no apology when I pointed out the the attendant my OneWorld Sapphire membership I had at the time. Must admit last time I flew AA, next couple of flights to LHR I used BA instead.

Besides the fact that domestic priority boarding was a benefit only given to platinum QFF members and not gold. So now gold gets another benefit and platinum gets shafted.

Once Platinum is eliminated and you and I are both Gold again you'll be glad I stood up for our rights in advance :)

Reading this youd think WP had priority boarding taken away... You've still got your benefit, you just might have to share :p

All but gone now in CBR. Might be because the priority queue was twice as long as the standard

and will be even worse with SG allowed.

I suspect on many flights more than 50% of pax will have PB access.

I think you'll find the issue is not benefits disappearing, but the whole platinum status level disappearing.

Voice of reason in the house - we are yet to receive confirmation of the enhancement from any credible sources. Hold onto your proverbial horses!

Signs have been seen at more than one airport, and announcements heard more than once....
