a. offer them in J class
b. earn qf status credits ?

What do you mean by "comfort seat"? I've never heard that term used on MH. Flying J will earn you QF status credits anyway.

Yeah. Common in Y, in J it would be like booking 2 rooms in a hotel for 1 person- for the status credits/stay credits/flights and nights
