Spend $150, Get $50 Back on American Express Travel

Save this offer to your Card to receive a $50 statement credit, when you spend $150 on pre-paid hotels, car hire or experiences at americanexpress.com.au/travel by 31 January 2015. Offer limited to first 15,000 Cards.

This offer is valid for purchases made within Australia, in AUD and charged to an eligible, connected Australian American Express Card.

I am sure everyone has their AMEX connected to TripAdvisor previously already, to take up the $10 review bonus. So this $50 statement credit is only 1 click away if you are in the market for some travel-related purchases.

This is potentially a good offer because I have a few trips to book at the moment. I've activated it on my two AMEX cards.
But what does everyone think about the AUD requirement? If I book an overseas hotel through the AU AMEX travel website, does it charge me in AUD? Or Foreign Currency?

Also, would I be correct so that that my Hhonors status won't be honoured if I book through AMEX?

Thanks for posting reilic. My card is linked to TripAdvisor. Does anyone know if they send any email notifications to advise of these offers, or do you just need to keep checking the TA site to see whats new? I see there have actually been quite a few offers, but haven't received any emails about them.

I didn't get email notifications for those offers either. I found it by accident when I was trying to write a review for the $10 credit.

I saw the offer on the amex travel booking site, booked today hope my credit comes quickly too.

When I esquire about how long it takes to recieve the credits, the operator told me 4-6 weeks. It arrived the next day.

Did anyone receive an email saying the credit is coming like the other Amex credits? I just made a booking and only received the itinerary.

I didn't get an email but credit showed up about one week after booking (in Dec).

Came through in 2 days for me. Excellent! :)

Worked out well. I booked Sheraton Mirage.

Room I wanted directly was $700 for 2 nights. Amex Travel was showing $528. Take off the $50 credit and the $200 Platinum travel credit and total cost was $278 for 2 nights.

Not bad! :)

Ok, my first credit came through 4 days after the booking. Now waiting for the second one on the supp card...

Nice.. I wonder how come mine hasnt come thru yet

As a suggestion, take a screen shot of that page with the 'saved' button on Tripadvisor. You might need it if the credit doesn't come through within the 90 day window.

I booked two rooms at a hotel for the same dates. However despite paying with one click, it appeared on statement as two separate transactions. Concerned it wouldn't trigger the discount, I called Amex who sorted it out immediately

I figured out what went wrong. I linked the card but didn't save the offer. Sigh.
