I'm looking at booking an award from SIN-AUH-CAI/SIN-DOH-CAI, the choices I have are either EY or QR from SIN.

I've never been on either carrier so I'm not sure what to make of their hard and soft products so maybe you guys can shed some light on this?

The connecting service from the Gulf States to Cairo is not insignificant in terms of flight time. I would go with business class the whole way.

Fair enough. What would you say is better? the new QR 787's or EY's A332's? Any experiences?

i have no idea, no doubt others will be able to chime in.

an issue will be if EY has full flat beds out of SIN. if they do then they win. I wouldn't swap to a 787 just to experience it if that entails a coach flight after for nearly 4 hours.

EY fly all A320s fro AUH-CAI
QR fly 3 flights per day; 1 x 777, 1 x A330, 1 x A320
It's about a 4 hour flight, so I prefer to do it all on QR.

1 other thing to consider.
Flights departing CAI are oftern very, very cheap. So a smart option would be to do a one-way redemption to Cairo and then pay for the J class flight in-bound.
eg. SIN-CAI one-way in J ~ $2600
CAI-SIN one-way in J ~ $1100 ;)

Ha. Browski, you read my mind. I was exactly planning to do that. I was looking at TRs on the QR 787s and it looked really good. I haven't seen any TRs on SIN-AUH so I'm not sure about it but DOH-CAI is 3 hours in Y with QR so I don't think it would be that bad but I would love feed back on AUH-SIN with EY J.

I believe that the EY widebodies are all flat beds.

I would not swap a three hour flight in Y for business class the whole way given both QR and EY are flat beds ex SIN.
