Hi everyone,

I just found this and thought I'd let everyone else know.

Qantas has a sale advertised for $115 one way, SYD-MEL.

But... fares are showing up for $83. Even for the Easter long weekend (which should start at $155).

I can't ever remember seeing QF fares that cheap over a long weekend/school holiday period. I only had a few minutes to check other routes (SYD-LAX, SYD-WLG) to see if there were other bargains, but couldn't find anything. Doesn't mean they're not there, though...

I assume this is a mistake (they meant $183?), or maybe a bit of unadvertised luck. Either way... I just booked a whole bunch of fares (cricket tickets, weddings, etc.)

Happy booking!

L.

SYD-PER and SYD-ADL also cheaper than current advertised specials. Perhaps they are launching a new sale tomorrow and the fares are already loaded.

looks like the issue has been fixed. I was able to bag MEL-CBR flights for $91... I think just in the nick of time :)

Brilliant! Thanks for posting. I managed to bag SYD-MEL return, $83 each way and they're now showing up as $155. I wish I'd had my calendar worked out a bit better.

Better then not knowing about it at all!

Exactly why I posted it. Figured they'd discover it sooner or later anyway, so might as well let some people know in the meantime...

Not sure if was a coincidence or not, but $115-$83 = $32. +++'s on SYD-MEL award are $32.30 or thereabouts.

Same thing occurred to me. It would have been interesting to check ITA or similar to see if the fares were filed without taxes.

That was my immediate thought.

The surprising part was no blackout dates on specials during school holidays.

Alternatively like lots of people who used to post on this forum do, share it on a private forum instead :)
