Domestic upgrade request immediate confirmation

Hi Princess It has been like that for around 12 to 18 months I have contacted QF about it many times and the response is we are working on it.

One explanation on here is the time that one does the request.

Did you request the upgrade as soon as you purchased the flight or was it after the tickets had been fully processed and issued?

Their seems to be a lot of issues at the moment around upgrades, seat selection etc.

As above, yes it was within 10 minutes of booking.
12-18 mths is a long time to be working on it though :!: Frankly, I think annoying your best customers isn't great business practice :(

So maybe you're doing it before tickets are issued which would be a problem

My Bolding

But that is something that QF seem to have down pat LOL :)

Only because their system can't handle it. Even if the upgrade can't be processed until the tickets are issued, there's nothing stopping the system actually doing that once they are. Which it doesn't :)

Not according to the call centre. They said it was ticketed and couldn't understand why the upgrade wouldn't go through.

Admittedly I don't have a lot of recent experience of this as I've been flying mainly VA domestic since 2012. Most of my QF domestic sectors these days are ticketed in J as part of an int booking.
But I clearly remember in 2012 being able to get upgrades confirmed immediately after booking for my trans cons.
