So i've booked CX in the past and always booked using firstname, middlename & lastname as their website requests it.
Though having a rather long firstname and surname I don't like having it on my boarding pass as it always gets cut off!
*First world problems I know..

Question is has anyone booked directly with CX on their website and only put in first and last names and had no trouble travelling?

Understand you can enter your fullname in the APIS screen, but just don't want any issues at the airport.. My gut says it won't be an issue as most airlines don't require middlename during booking (incl Qantas).

I always book direct with CX and never use my middle name. Had no issues ever even going to USA etc.

I flew CX earlier in the year with my name misspelt on a booking and Middle name omitted. Worked fine.

No experience with CX bookings, but for people like me who don't have a middle name this simply can't be mandatory I guess.

There is certainly no mandated requirement whatsoever for the middle name to be on the ticket. Even on US domestics.

It is however required in the APIS data, but that is separate to the passenger names.

HWMBO and I flew with CX earlier this year on multiple legs. He doesn't have a middle name and it was never an issue.
