Anyone know if Qantas has rolled out the new Business Suite on any A330 between Sydney and Perth and if so, what's the best way to find out which flights have the new suite?

I am going from SYD-PER in late Oct and just tossing up the idea of point upgrade test out the new seat if it's avail.

Thanks

TT

Configuration of the aircraft operating your flight is a lottery

What are the current configurations that service PER, has the dreaded middle seat is a table/its actually prem eco not business config been scrapped yet?

i dont think theres even been a working prototype of the seat spotted as yet has there?

Far from being scrapped.

You have 4 configs servicing PER currently on the 332's (ex-JQ config, EBM/N, The Recaro "dreaded" middle seat and the Skybeds).

As cosi mentioned, it is still a lottery as to what you will end up on.

Great, I was hoping they had been scrapped.

Is it still the case you can tell by what seats are available?

I have my first internal Aus flights coming up over Christmas and the current layout for both flights that are on A330's is; AB DF JK which I think is the Recaro middle seat table config?

You can check here: Seat Maps for the Airbus 330-200 | Qantas

But yes, DF does indicate a middle seat. EF does not.

You are on your dreaded config. Row 1 isn't too bad, but keeping away from a recliner is vital if not in row 1.

Not in row 1 as don't have QF status so only got as far forward as row 4, the flights looks quite empty just now so hoping I can grab some row 1 seats later on.

Was hoping to grab some sleep on the PER-SYD red-eye, doubt I will now after the config confirmation.

When I initially booked my MEL-PER it was on an international config plane, acording to the seat map, but has since been changed, now these flights aren't looking as beneficial as I thought they were going to be.

I've never had flat beds on the way to Sydney, but I have had 100% strike rate, 3 times in the past 3 months on QF571 on the return.

If they already have flat beds on the SYD-PER route then there is a case for the new aircraft to step into the route from PER-SYD...haha, highly unlikely but you never know!

Is EF the best way to confirm which aircraft type it is?

Specifically interested in QF577 SYD -> PER on 21/10/14. My take is its PE seating.

Prior to booking yes it is (the EF question).

Yes 571 on the 21st is currently showing as domestic configured. No sky beds but IMO better than the old jetstar star class configuration

Unless you are in 2D in the old JQ Star Class config (apart from the IFE)

My understanding based on the middle seats being given the centre seats show as DF that this is the old J* start class?

Yes and no. The last few 330's into the QF fleet have an earlier version of the JQ Star Class which is different to the current QF domestic 330 J product.

The older version has no IFE, but 2D has a lot of extra leg room (that is the give away). It is the millennium seat that you'd find up front of the domestic 767's.

The newer 330's with the middle seat blocked have the Recaro seat that is similar to the QF PE seat.

Well I'm thoroughly confused :) So is that aircraft for that flight and date the one with or without the blocked off middle seat?

Sorry for being overly obtuse :)
