I have booked GUM trip at end of year and itinerary shows changes. It prompts me to accept changes.

Has anyone been in such situation and been able to make change to routing?

you won't be able to select any new flights on previous star partners that are no longer associated with USDM.

The flight in question prompting 'accept changes' is about all you'll be able to influence. If you are now under minimum connecting times, you may be able to make consequential changes on the same airline. But not to change to a different airline.

Got it. Thanks MEL_Traveller.

This info might be too late for you, but I had a GUM trip coming up for xmas and it had a schedule change. It was my return segment from PEK-PVG-SYD. I called them up and they rerouted PEK-SYD direct thus skipping PVG. It took many HUACA's but finally managed to do it with the help of a very nice agent from CA which walked me through what to tell US.

So, I can say that within the same airline, it can definitely be done, but may be difficult to change to another airline and route.

I had exactly the same issue- the schedule change was only 5 mins so didn't need to change anything. Called USDM and they said provided the operating carrier says everything is okay then it's fine by them.

They did say 'it's good that the schedule change is okay because we don't have access to those star alliance flights anymore'
